Nielsen was is born 11 February 1926 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Nielsen, American actor and comedian. Although her acting career crossed a variety of genres in both television and film, Nielsen received his greatest successes in comedy movie The Fly and Naked Gun.
Nielsen's most important roles in the films Forbidden Planet and The Poseidon Adventure came long before he took a trip to comedy. His deadpan delivery as a doctor in 1980's Airplane marked a turning point in Nielsen's career, one that would make him the word to film critic Roger Ebert, said Olivier of mimics.
